Dog tries arcade claw machine and something amazing happens

Claw machines are a fun way to pass the time at the arcade – and there's always the hope that you may win big. We all know that the likelihood of actually taking a prize home is extremely slim. But because you can slot that coinin and just have another go, it seems all too tempting. Especially when faced with a plethora of plushies.

But what would you do if somehow your dogknew how to use a claw machine, and they were absolutely determined to win a prize? That's what happened to the owner of dog Promise, whose owner posts on Instagram as @my_aussie_gal. Promise was standing by the claw machine and suddenly hopped up to it to have a go.

Captioning the heartwarming video, Promises' owner Mary wrote: "You really don’t want to know how much Promise has spent on the dinosaurs in this machine. But hey, it’s worth every penny to see her face light up for her new toy".

Mary didn't have to win the toy for Promise because the proud pooch managed to do it all by herself – and people were truly amazed by the skill involved.

After seven painstaking attempts to win various toys on the claw machine, Promise managed to bag a pterodactyl plushie. The clever canine then decided to "show it off to the whole mall" in celebration.

Mary shared that Promise was "so proud of herself" as she ran through the shopping centre with the toy in her mouth.

People couldn't believe how good Promise was on the machines. However, they wondered how she got the skills to be able to win herself a plush toy.

One gushed: "When the dog's better at these machines than I’ll ever be! She is so smart!!"

Another wrote: "She is smart indeed, but she’s got a dog trainer GENIUS for an owner soooo… she’s won at life".

A third remarked: "Those toy claw machines are so rigged! I'm amazed she got one!! Good job girl!!"

Somebody explained: "Yes, they are rigged. But they are rigged to shut fully after a certain number of times. You can program the toy so that it is worth about £5, then you program it to close after more than £5 worth of games have been played.

"So eventually you can succeed. It's just a game of luck if you arrive at the machine on the first go or near the last go".

An Instagram user responded: "It’s also how they stuff the toys in there. I watched one being filled and saw how they stuff them down into the pile so it takes more force to grab them, usually with it slipping off the toys".

Either way, there's no denying what Promise did was amazing and totally adorable.
